What Google looks for
  • Google has no required properties for Article but recommends headline, image, datePublished, dateModified and author.
  • Dates use YYYY-MM-DD; dateModified only when the content really changed.
  • Author is the person who wrote it; the publisher is the site or company.

Which fields? The ones Google's structured-data docs list as required or recommended for that type (Service, which Google doesn't document, uses core schema.org properties). Valid markup makes a page eligible for rich results; it doesn't guarantee them. Google no longer shows FAQ rich results (fully retired in 2026); Software App rich results need real ratings.
